With British actor Henry Cavill announced for the lead in Zack Snyder's epic Superman: Man of Steel, it falls to newly cast Kevin Costner and Diane Lane to bring the familiar faces to the Kent family. Costner is to play Johnathon and Lane (not Louis Lane!) is to play Martha.
Director Snyder said, "Superman's parents should be vibrant, like real people, not like some doddering ancient cliché…"
Meanwhile, Henry Cavill's franchise—should I say FANchise?—continues to grow. Largely unknown in America until the announcement of his role, he has become a familiar face to many, especially female fans who instantly adopted him as a sexy super icon.
In other news on this anticipated movie, Snyder has put down the rumor that Viggo Mertensen will be joining the cast. He was anticipated to play General Zod in the villain role.
